J.T. Turner, Jr.
Founder
J.T. Turner, Jr., the sole shareholder of the Company, grew up in Thomasville, Georgia and graduated from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. Prior to moving to Savannah, he pursued all aspects of the building and restoration business by working for several construction and restoration contractors. He learned the financial aspects of the business while working at a bank in Macon.
In 1976, on the advice of friend and local businessman Hugh Armstrong, Sr., Jim started the company known today as J.T. Turner Construction, Co., Inc. When asked in 2006 by Savannah Magazine who his two business mentors were, Jim Turner stated his father J.T. Turner and his close friend Hugh Armstrong Sr.
